La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed.
Breastfeeding is a simple and natural process, but you may need support and information on the correct positioning of the baby at the breast, working and breastfeeding, avoiding problems, and overcoming any
difficulties that may occur. We welcome and encourage expecting mothers to come to our meetings too. Many women have found attending one of each of the series meetings during the last 4 or 5 months of their pregnancies to be very helpful and help them succeed at breastfeeding after the birth of their babies. Meeting Information All women who have an interest in breastfeeding are invited to attend any of our monthly meetings. Children of all ages are welcome to attend. Attending La Leche League meetings can help you learn about breastfeeding from other nursing mothers. At these monthly meetings, mothers share not only their questions and concerns but also the benefits and joys of breastfeeding. Being in touch with La Leche League can give you the network of support you need. Knowing other women who have breastfed their babies and having accurate, up-to-date information can be helpful and reassuring. Meetings are based on a series of four topics, but every question will be answered regardless of the meeting's main focus that day: |
