La Leche League is an international, nonprofit, nonsectarian organization dedicated to providing education, information, support, and encouragement to women who want to breastfeed.
Breastfeeding is a simple and natural process, but you may need support and information on the correct positioning of the baby at the breast, working and breastfeeding, avoiding problems, and overcoming any
difficulties that may occur. We welcome and encourage expecting mothers to come to our meetings too. Many women have found attendinng one of each of the series meetings during the last 4 or 5 months of their pregnancies to be very helpful and help them succeed at breastfeeding after the birth of their babies.
Meeting Information
All women who have an interest in breastfeeding are invited to attend any of our monthly meetings. Children of all ages are welcome to attend.
Attending La Leche League meetings can help you learn about breastfeeding from other nursing mothers. At these monthly meetings, mothers share not only their questions and concerns but also the benefits and joys of breastfeeding. Being in touch with La Leche League can give you the network of support you need. Knowing other women who have breastfed their babies and having accurate, up-to-date information can be helpful and reassuring.

every month at 7:00 p.m.

We also hold special meetings for couples, playdates for toddlers, and talks about a
variety of topics related to breastfeeding and parenting.
For the next four months, our daytime meetings will be held at LLL member Dina's
home in Scotch Plains at 10am. The daytime meetings are
generally on the second Thursday of the month at 10 am:
January 12

March 8
April 12
The evening meetings will be held the fourth Wednesday of each month at the Summit Area YMCA located at 67 Maple Street in Summit at 7pm. The dates for the evening meetings are:
January 25
February 22
March 28
April 25
You are welcome to come to either or both of the monthly meetings with your babies and
children. Please bring a healthy snack to share if you like.

La Leche League of Westfield also holds a special toddler meeting every month for interested moms:
We are excited to announce that our Toddler Meeting will be held monthly on the third Thursday of the month at 9 a.m at Belly 2 Birth Imaging located at 773 Central
Ave. in Westfield. We are grateful that they have kindly offered their space to us.
This will be an informal gathering to allow our little ones to play and give us an opportunity to discuss topics related to life with a toddler.
